About the My Leg! sound

Twenty-five years of Bikini Bottom catastrophes, and somehow the same fish keeps getting hurt. Fred, voiced by Mr. Lawrence, is the show's longest-running background gag: any explosion, collapse or municipal disaster, however tightly contained, will find his leg. Sheer commitment carries it. Nobody ever acknowledges the injury and nobody ever helps. Play it for collateral damage, for minor injuries treated as full tragedies, and for any group activity that claims exactly one innocent bystander. A hall-of-fame running joke, and a masterclass in comic persistence.

OriginFred the Fish's recurring injury cry from SpongeBob SquarePants.
