About the Thomas The Tank Engine (Loud) sound
The Thomas the Tank Engine theme, cranked until the brass distorts. Britain's model-railway children's series began in 1984, adapted from the Reverend W. Awdry's books and narrated at first by Ringo Starr, which is a genuinely strange sentence to have to write down. The internet later worked out that the jaunty little tune turns deranged at volume. Edits use it as a jumpscare — arriving from nowhere, at maximum level, usually at the exact moment a video is pretending to be calm. Thirteen seconds is considerably more than anybody needs.
