About the Cat Purring sound

The low, steady rumble of a purring cat sits somewhere around 25 to 150 hertz, a frequency range researchers have tentatively linked to tissue healing. The science is unsettled; the effect on humans is not. Purring is one of the most reliably calming sounds ever recorded, and lo-fi producers worked that out a very long time ago. Use it for backgrounds, sleep videos and ASMR edits. Or leave it running quietly in another tab as a small break from whatever else the internet is currently doing to you.

OriginA close recording of a domestic cat purring.
