About the Thunder Crack sound

Close, loud and biblically overstated. This is the atmosphere button. Real thunder is one of the few natural sounds with genuine physical weight to it, and film has spent a century using it to announce that a scene has turned serious. The comedy comes from mismatch: play it behind a villain reveal by all means, but play it behind a terrible pun delivered with total sincerity and it works considerably better. Any statement improves when accompanied by weather. Zeus-certified emphasis, requiring no meteorological justification whatsoever.

OriginA close thunder crack for maximum drama.
