About the Concrete Sliding sound

Heavy stone dragged across heavy stone, slow and gritty, with all the low scrape that implies. Foley like this earns its keep in horror and thriller edits: a slab shifting, a lid moving, something being uncovered that should have stayed buried. Game modders reach for it constantly, because a stone door has to sound like it weighs a tonne or nobody believes the puzzle in front of them. There is no story behind it, and none is needed. Put it under a slow push-in shot and the tension arrives without any help from the picture.

OriginA generic foley recording of concrete or stone being dragged; widely used in video editing.
