About the FNAF 4 Jumpscare sound

By the fourth game the horror had moved out of the pizzeria entirely and into a child's bedroom, where the only mechanic left was standing at a door and listening. Get it wrong and the Nightmare animatronics deliver this: closer, louder and considerably meaner than anything in the first three games, with no security desk between you and it. Most of the fandom rates it the harshest scream in the series. The design logic is not hard to follow, since you spend the whole night holding your breath and the payoff has to be unbearable. Sleep is cancelled.
