About the iPhone Alarm sound

Radar is the default iPhone alarm, and few sounds on the planet are more widely resented. It works exactly as designed: a rising three-note figure that repeats faster and louder until you deal with it, and it works so well that millions of people now have a genuine stress response to hearing it in a film or an advert. Twenty-five seconds gives you the full escalation. Cruel and extremely effective as a prank, particularly on anyone who has just told you how well they have been sleeping lately.

OriginThe default 'Radar' alarm tone on Apple's iPhone.
