About the Groan Tube sound

Flip the tube over and it groans at you. Groan tubes are those cardboard novelty toys with a weighted reed inside, sold in joke shops for decades, and the noise they produce is uncannily like a person expressing profound disappointment. Under a second long, completely dry, and the ideal response to a bad pun, a bad decision, or a slide deck. The internet adopted it as a lightweight alternative to the full womp-womp: less theatrical, more like a colleague sighing at you from across the room.

OriginA novelty groan tube toy, which moans when inverted.
