The Sandvich heals him to full if he can find a few uninterrupted seconds, so the eating animation doubles as a public declaration that you consider the enemy team beneath your notice. Taunting with it is a real tactic and a real risk. That contented munching has since become the internet's default sound for smug satisfaction, deployed whenever somebody is enjoying a situation rather more than the people around them think they should.
