About the Tornado Warning sound

A rising and falling civil-defence wail, and the most primal alarm in the American soundscape. Anybody raised in the Midwest has a physical response to it that no amount of context can override. The sound predates conscious memory and goes straight to the part of the brain that handles basements. There is no talking yourself out of it. Outside an actual emergency it makes an exceptionally effective and slightly cruel prank, and it works beautifully in edits where a situation escalates from merely bad to genuinely meteorological. Take shelter, stay away from windows, and reconsider whoever sent you this link.
