About the Star Wars Theme sound

Brass in the key of triumph, written by John Williams and recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra for the 1977 opening crawl. Williams was deliberately old-fashioned about the score, borrowing the sweep of Golden Age Hollywood at a point when film music had largely moved on to synthesisers and pop songs. That choice is why the theme still sounds enormous rather than dated. Forty seconds in, most listeners are sitting slightly straighter. The fanfare does not ask for attention, it instructs. Use it for entrances and reveals. It will make any announcement sound considerably more important than it actually is.

OriginThe main title theme from Star Wars (1977), composed by John Williams and recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra.
